HMS Unicorn Annual Review 2024: Celebrating Achievements and BIG Hopes for the Future

HMS Unicorn is proud to present its Annual Review for 2024 (click here), reflecting on another year of preservation, education, and community engagement.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and the community for their continued dedication to ensure our Ship remains an iconic symbol of maritime history and of Dundee.

As we progress through 2025, we look ahead to an exciting future and are more determined than ever to realise our ambitious Project Safe Haven – a vital initiative to preserve HMS Unicorn for future generations while enhancing the ship’s visitor experience, and expanding her role in the community.

We’ve launched a focussed fundraising appeal from which donations will directly fund the urgent restoration and preservation efforts required to save the ship by moving her to a restored dry dock, along with creating a new cafe and visitor centre.

But the project doesn’t stop there. With your help, we aim to:

  • Expand Community Benefits: We are committed to offering even more opportunities for the local community to connect with the ship, from educational programs to cultural events that celebrate the rich history of the Unicorn and her role in Dundee and in Scottish maritime heritage
  • Enhance Visitor Experience: We will also fund improvements that will make visiting HMS Unicorn even more accessible and engaging for all
  • Drive Economic Growth and Employment: The project will create valuable economic opportunities, including jobs related to restoration, tourism, and events. By attracting more visitors and hosting community-centered programmes, we aim to stimulate local businesses and provide new prospects in the region.

It is only with your support that we can achieve this. Every donation, large or small, helps us move closer to achieving our goal of securing a safe and sustainable future for HMS Unicorn.

Until 1st April, every £1 donated is matched tenfold by investors, but the clock is ticking!

Please donate today HERE. Thank you.
